The Climate Project


The Climate Project is a nonprofit organization based in Nashville, TN. It works to increase public awareness of the climate crisis at a grassroots level in the United States and abroad. By April 2007, a diverse group of 1,000 volunteers from throughout the U.S. had been trained by Al Gore to present a version of the slideshow featured in the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth. As of March 2008, they had delivered more than 10,000 presentations and reached a combined audience of more than a million people.

Environmental Education Providers of Miami-Dade County, Inc. (EEP)
The Environmental Education Providers of Miami-Dade County, Inc. (EEP) was founded in 1997. They are a consortium of local not-for-profit organizations, government agencies, universities, public school educators and administrators from Miami-Dade County, who share a common interest in providing environmental education to our community.
EEP meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month except August.

FIU GREEN - FIU Sustainable Green Living Program 


This program is run by the student organization, FIU’s Emerging Green Builders and young professionals.  Their mission is to create a cohort of emerging green building leaders and to develop opportunities for networking through the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and other green building organizations to generate momentum for the green building industry.  They hope to become a center of green education, technology and networking for future generations of professionals interested in alternative energy.

As background, The Carbon Fund is financing and promoting the protection, restoration and enhancement of forests all over the world through carbon sequestration, an important tool in preventing global climate change.  It is promoting the creation of carbon assets through the restoration of native habitats throughout the world in a manner that encourages the protection, restoration and enhancement of fish, wildlife and plant resources. It is encouraging the participation of all farmers and landowners whose lands are now being used for agricultural and silvicultural purposes, especially those that were recently farmed and are now fallow.
